Vegavolt Technology

LLC «Vegavolt» is a Russian company, active in the field of developing and manufacturing of hi-tech gadgets. Vegavolt Technology is one of the latest developments of the company.

The actuality and necessity of this technology becomes quite clear if you take into account the following:

  • the steep rise of the assortment and the variety of different portables powered by accumulator batteries;
  • the current situation, when more and more people have several such portables and have to use the corresponding number of individual chargers;
  • the growing progress and popularity of «Intellectual House» concept.

At present for the local settling of the problems, connected with the diversification of consumer portables, on the market are offered different universal charging devices, mainly, of two types:

  • with manual control of the output voltage and fixed output current limit;
  • with pseudo-automatic control of the output voltage with help of special resistor, built into the plug, delivered the charging current to the gadget

Both systems often have the weak points:

  • there is no controlled level of the current limitation;
  • the safety level is not adequate — there are no short circuit, overheat, wrong connection protections;
  • there is no possibility of using them for charging of new gadgets with new charging parameters.

The Vegavolt Technology in this application is fully free from these weaknesses and provides:

  • the genuine and all-around automation of the charging and/or powering processes for any unit, using the direct current;
  • the possibility of using only one device for powering/charging of any units;
  • full safety due to the highly reliable short circuit, overheat, wrong connection protections.

The technology algorithm

The Vegavolt Technology is developed on the basis of the newest achievements of microelectronics and programming. The technology algorithm includes:

  • a digital inquiry from the special microprocessor controlled Vegavolt power supply to the unit, connected for charging/powering (for example, to the mobile, MP3-player, notebook, and so on);
  • the reception of this inquiry by the processor of the above unit and working out the control signal, containing the digital information about the type and model of this unit and of the levels of voltage and current, necessary for it;
  • the reception of the control signal by the microprocessor of the Vegavolt power supply and working out of requested level of voltage and current by this power supply and delivering them to the unit;
  • self-diagnostic system and LCD for displaying of the type and model of the connected unit, the charging parameters and other information.

Software

The special Software is the first and one of the most important part of the Technology. It provides for the digital data exchange between the unit, consuming the energy, and the Vegavolt power supply. This Software is Windows-compatible and at present LLC «Vegavolt» negotiates with «Microsoft Corp.» the possibility of establishing this Software as the world standard for using in automatic control systems for direct current power supplies.

This standard will enable the manufacturers to include the Vegavolt software in the software of their mobiles, notebooks, cameras, players and so on the Vegavolt. Hence these portables will have the possibility to exchange digital data with Vegavolt power supplies and directly «to order» from them the necessary current and voltage. Consequently, there won?t be any need in numerous individual chargers.

The second part of the Technology is the special Vegavolt direct current power supply with digital control. The Company has developed and manufactures a family of such power supplies, having one, two and more independent charging channels, with output capacity from 12 till 120 W.

A combined use of USB and Vegavolt standards within the frames of Windows-package could allow to use the existing in all modern computers USB- ports for connecting all possible portables and delivering to them through power contacts of these USB-ports the necessary voltage and current with help of Vegavolt power supply, built in these computers. By that the data exchange between the connected portable and the built-in Vegavolt power source (the digital inquiry from Vegavolt power source to the connected portable and the digital control signal from the portable to Vegavolt power source) could be transferred through the data contacts of the same USB-ports. The digital control of Vegavolt power source could be accomplished directly by the main processor of the computer.

As at present on the market there are a lot of different connectors for supplying a charging current to portables. In view of this, LLC «Vegavolt» has developed a number of specialized connectors (over 50 types), which can work with more, than 600 types and models of different portables. That covers over 80% of Russian and European market of portables. Now all these connectors are provided with the special microchips for emulating of the software, necessary for the reception of the digital inquiry from the side if Vegavolt power supply to the connected portable and for working out the digital control signal and sending it back. It won?t be necessary as soon, as Vegavolt sofrware standard is introduced in software of the portables, using direct current and they are enabled to answer to the Vegavolt power supply digital inquiry directly.

The Vegavolt power source can also be built in a standard electrical net of any building or any vehicle — a car, a truck, an aircraft, a ship and so on. In this way each house, office, hotel, restaurant, aircraft, car, train car and so on, can be furnished with «intellectual plugs», which would ensure a full automation of direct current supply for any portable and as a result, the possibility to get rid of numerous individual chargers.

Vegavolt Technology has the key importance for «The intellectual house» conception. Introducing of «intellectual plugs» controlled by the main home computer, can provide in the house, office, hotel or vehicle for any necessary direct current not only for charging portables with their batteries, but also for all possible direct current consumers( halogen lighters, alarm systems, communication systems and so on).
